Savannah Bananas second baseman and internet star Jackson Olson is trading trick plays for the tango, joining Dancing With the Stars season 35 as the third confirmed celebrity. The new season waltzes onto ABC this fall after the reveal at Disney’s Upfront.

DWTS just added another curveball to season 35: internet-famous Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson is stepping onto the ballroom floor this fall. Yep, the baseball guy who dances on TikTok is now officially a contestant.

How we found out

Disney dropped the news at its Upfront presentation, confirming Olson as the third celebrity headed to the show. The full cast of celebs and pro dancers is still under wraps for now, with more reveals coming later. The season premieres this fall on ABC and Disney+.

The TikTok breadcrumb trail

Olson basically soft-launched the announcement a few days early by filming a dance on the field and posting it to TikTok. On-screen text teased the obvious: "Jackson when can you share the secret you’ve been keeping from us?" His caption didn’t exactly hide it either: "You’ll find out soon! #secret #baseball."

The blink-and-you-miss-it clue: a disco ball hanging on the fence in the background, which fans immediately pegged as a nod to the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. Subtle? Not really. Effective? Absolutely.

Who is in so far

  • Jackson Olson — Savannah Bananas second baseman and internet personality; announced at Disney’s Upfront as the third celeb for season 35.
  • Maura Higgins — Love Island alum; confirmed last month at Hulu ’s Get Real House event.
  • Ciara Miller — Summer House star; also announced at Hulu’s Get Real House event. She told E! News during the May 4 Met Gala livestream she has a dream partner in mind and is lobbying for it. She’s eyeing the Cha Cha and a classic waltz, and, in a move that makes total sense if you’ve watched her show, she admitted she’s weirdly fond of the box step and wants that Bridgerton energy.
"I’ve been campaigning for Val [Chmerkovskiy]."

Reality TV side plot (because of course there is one)

Miller’s casting arrives while her off-screen situation is very on-screen: her ex West Wilson and former best friend Amanda Batula said in March they’re pursuing a romance. Expect that to get unpacked at the Summer House season 10 reunion.

Olson off the field

Olson’s also been in the headlines for dating Maggie Sajak, daughter of Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak. They went public in April, and he told Us Weekly in May that they’re navigating long distance from opposite sides of the country and putting in the work to see each other as much as they can.

What’s next

DWTS season 35 lands this fall on ABC and Disney+. More celebrities and their pro partners will be revealed later, but for now, pencil in a baseball player trading cleats for Cuban heels.
