Creature Commandos Season 1 Is Over: Finale & Post Credits Scene, Explained
The story of the Bride and Eric Frankenstein's enmity is not over.
In the final 7th episode of Season 1 of the animated series Creature Commandos by James Gunn, an intriguing scene was shown after the credits. It confirmed the fate of Eric Frankenstein and hinted at a new round of his complicated relationship with the Bride in Season 2.
What Happened in Creature Commandos Season 1?
According to the plot, Amanda Waller sent Task Force M to Pokolistan. The team had to rescue Princess Ilana Rostovic from the sorceress Circe of Themyscira.
The team was led by Rick Flag Sr. – Rick Flag's father from the Suicide Squad duology. The team included the Bride, Doctor Phosphorus, Nina Mazursky, Weasel, and G.I. Robot.
The Creature Commandos captured Circe, and she showed Waller a vision of the post-apocalyptic future. The sorceress wanted to kill Ilana to prevent her from starting World War III.
Ilana actually planned to take over the entire world, so the team had to get rid of the princess. Robot and Nina died during the mission. In the finale of Episode 7, the Bride led the renewed Creature Commandos. Among the fighters was the restored Robot.
The Bride & Eric Frankenstein Backstory
The Bride has been stalked by her ex, Eric Frankenstein, throughout the season. In 1831, scientist Victor Frankenstein created the Bride to be Eric's mistress. However, after her "birth," the Bride became afraid of Eric and they did not get along.
But Victor and the bride fell in love. Eric killed Victor, his creator, out of jealousy. For the next few centuries, Eric stalked the Bride, wanting to be with her. The Bride, however, dealt harshly with the restless stalker who cared little for her feelings.
In Episode 7, Eric reached the Bride again, and she shot him several times. The Bride left her would-be groom to die on the grounds of Ilana's castle.
Eric Survived in the Post-Credits Scene
However, in the post-credits scene, it was confirmed that Eric survived. He was healed by a kind old woman – one of the informants Eric used to find the Bride. Eric said that he still believes in the possibility of being with the Bride and hopes that she will return his feelings.
Therefore, the living dead will continue to seek the Bride's favor. Maybe they can at least establish friendly relations. Then Eric will have a chance to become a member of the Creature Commandos.
