Cast, plot, release date: your quick guide to the animated series 'Bass X Machina'
Netflix’s steampunk animated series Bass X Machina is coming into focus—think who’s in it, what it’s chasing, and when you can hit play.
A steampunk spin on a Western legend is headed to Netflix : in Bass X Machina, Brian Tyree Henry not only voices Bass Reeves but also serves as an executive producer. The series comes from creator LeSean Thomas (Cannon Busters) with animation by Studio Mir, and it mashes up six-shooter grit with clockwork tech and the supernatural.
The first teaser leans hard into that vibe: Reeves boards a speeding train in pursuit of a target, dispatches the job with precision, and reveals a mechanical arm that doubles as a weapon and a tool. The enemies aren’t just outlaws — they include hulking war machines and otherworldly threats.
Set around a reimagined version of the first Black U.S. Marshal, the show follows Reeves working as a bounty hunter determined to protect the people he loves, even as the frontier around him turns stranger and deadlier.
