April’s half gone. May is racing in with fresh streaming updates—and Netflix is about to shake up your queue.

Mid-April check-in: last week on Netflix was light, this week is not. The big swing is Beef season 2 dropping midweek, and on the movie side Netflix is quietly sliding in the very-argued-about 2025 horror flick Him on Sunday. Yes, the 2025 one. In between, there is a surprising amount of docu-history TV and a few returning international series. Here is the full week at a glance.

This week on Netflix (April 13–19)

  • Monday, April 13: Noah Kahan: Out of Body; America: Our Defining Hours; American Godfathers: The Five Families; The Booze, Bets and Sex That Built America; Halloween Ends; The Men Who Build America: Frontiersmen
  • Tuesday, April 14: Crooks Season 2; Untold: Jail Blazers
  • Wednesday, April 15: Fake Profile Season 3; Made With Love; Million Dollar Secret Season 2; The Law According to Lidia Poet: Season 3
  • Thursday, April 16: Beef Season 2; Dandelion; Ronaldinho: The One and Only
  • Friday, April 17: 180; A Gorilla Story: Told By David Attenborough; Alpha Males Season 5; Roommates
  • Saturday, April 18: Denial; We Are All Trying Here
  • Sunday, April 19: Him

Quick thoughts

Beef season 2 is the headline. It is the kind of midweek drop that will own the discourse for a few days, so if you want to stay ahead of spoilers, plan accordingly.

Horror fans: Halloween Ends lands Monday for a rewatch-or-avoid revisit, and then Him shows up at the end of the week. Expect strong opinions either way.

Sports and legends lane is busy: Ronaldinho gets a spotlight documentary on Thursday, and Untold: Jail Blazers checks in on Tuesday for anyone who loves messy, era-defining NBA stories.

History-channel-core viewers are fed: The Booze, Bets and Sex That Built America and The Men Who Build America: Frontiersmen both pop Monday, alongside America: Our Defining Hours and American Godfathers: The Five Families. That is a lot of capital letters and robber-baron energy for one day.

International TV keeps humming with Crooks season 2 Tuesday, Fake Profile season 3 Wednesday, and Alpha Males season 5 Friday. If you like rotating through global series, this week is basically a sampler.

Bottom line: way more to choose from than last week. If you only pick two, make it Beef season 2 on Thursday and Him on Sunday, and then fill the gaps with the docs that speak your language.
