Binge Alert: Every Movie and TV Show Hitting Netflix This Week (May 18)
Mid-May isn’t a lull—it’s a streaming surge. Before June slates land, a fresh wave of movies and series is hitting your queue now—here’s what to press play on first.
Somehow we blinked and it is already mid-May. If you are just waiting for the June drop lists, not so fast - Netflix is still packing this week with a lot of TV and a surprising swing at live sports. Movies are a little light, but one of them is Jordan Peele 's 'Nope', which is hardly nothing. The bigger story: a wall of docuseries about American presidents lands all at once, plus the latest 'Law and Order' seasons, stand-up, and an F1 weekend Netflix is streaming live in Canada.
Quick heads-up on those live streams: the listings all carry a '(CA)' tag. That reads like Canada-only availability. So if you are outside Canada and wondering why you cannot see it, that is probably why.
Here is everything hitting Netflix this week, day by day:
- May 18
Abraham Lincoln: Season 1
FDR: Season 1
Grant: Season 1
The Great War
Law and Order: Season 23-24
Navy SEALs: America's Secret Warriors: Seasons 1-2
Nope
Theodore Roosevelt: Season 1
Thomas Jefferson: Season 1
Washington: Season 1 - May 19
Untold UK: Liverpool's Miracle of Istanbul
Wanda Sykes: Legacy - May 20
Carizzma - May 21
The Boroughs
James. - May 22
Canada: Sprint Qualifying (CA) - Netflix live event
F1 Canadian Grand Prix: Practice 1 (CA) - Netflix live event
Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie
Ladies First
Mating Season - May 23
F1 Canadian Grand Prix: Qualifying (CA) - Netflix live event
F1 Canadian Grand Prix: Sprint (CA) - Netflix live event - May 24
F1 Canadian Grand Prix: Race (CA) - Netflix live event
So, yeah, Netflix clearly woke up and chose presidents this week: Lincoln, FDR, Grant, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Washington, all in one go, plus 'The Great War' and a two-season drop of 'Navy SEALs: America's Secret Warriors'. On the scripted side, the platform keeps current with 'Law and Order' seasons 23 and 24. Comedy fans get 'Wanda Sykes: Legacy'. Soccer fans get a fresh 'Untold UK' deep dive on Liverpool's 2005 Champions League comeback. Families get 'Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie'. And if you are in Canada and into F1, Netflix basically becomes race weekend from Wednesday through Sunday, covering practice, sprint qualifying, qualifying, the sprint, and the race.
Not a massive movie haul, but 'Nope' is a great add, and the TV slate is stacked enough to keep your queue busy until those June lists show up.
