Best on-screen kiss? Rob Lowe says she was the "Most Beautiful Woman"
Rob Lowe has picked his all-time best on-screen kiss—care to guess who took the crown?
Put on the spot on Watch What Happens Live, Rob Lowe didn’t mull it over or phone a friend. Asked to name his best on-screen kiss, he went straight to Nastassja Kinski — and then explained why.
“At that moment in time, she was probably the most beautiful woman I’d certainly ever seen,”
Lowe added that locking lips with Kinski on camera left him “very, very scared,” saying he felt genuinely intimidated during their shoot.

Those were some of the other names Andy Cohen tossed out before Lowe made his pick.
The Kinski memory comes from The Hotel New Hampshire (1984), Tony Richardson’s adaptation of John Irving’s novel. The movie arrived early in Lowe’s career and also featured Jodie Foster and Beau Bridges.
‘St. Elmo’s’ update
On the same WWHL appearance, Lowe said a sequel to one of his most beloved films, St. Elmo’s Fire, is moving ahead.
“It is definitely in the works, for sure,”
he told Cohen, adding,
“all of us actors want to do it.”
According to Lowe, the cast expects to see a script draft in the first week of October. He’s talked with the studio before and has said the project has been in the works since 2024, but emphasized at the time that it was still early days.
Documentary on deck
Lowe also revealed a personal project: a documentary about his life that’s been three years in the making and is headed to Netflix . He described it as an honest look at “the good, the bad and the ugly,” and said he expects it to arrive around Thanksgiving.
