On Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Ben Affleck and Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding faced the ultimate stakes — but how far did they get?

When the game resumed with only two questions left, Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding were staring down a $500,000 stumper about a New York Times prediction later blown apart by the Wright brothers ’ first flight. They burned their 50:50, leaned on Ding’s read of the clues, and punched their ticket to the final question.

For the $1 million, the board asked which name had never been used for a turkey in the presidential Thanksgiving pardon tradition. Affleck looked to host Jimmy Kimmel and cashed in the show’s Ask the Host lifeline.

“This is the person that would actually be paying attention to every pardoned turkey’s name. Probably the best person in the world to ask this question to,” Affleck told Kimmel.

Kimmel pointed them toward “Spaghetti & Meatball” as the outlier. Affleck and Ding went with it — and it hit. The pair clinched the million, which Affleck said will go to his Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit that backs community-led groups in the conflict-affected region.

  • 50:50 on $500,000 — used
  • Ask the Host on $1,000,000 — used
  • Final answer — “Spaghetti & Meatball”
  • Winnings — $1,000,000 to Eastern Congo Initiative

Beyond the hot seat

Off TV, Affleck is also riding a business win: earlier this year, Netflix confirmed in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it’s buying InterPositive for approximately $587 million, with the total reportedly approaching $600 million if performance payouts kick in for Affleck and other investors.

“From the invention of the moving image to the transition to digital, from motion capture to virtual production, technology has evolved alongside the artists who use it... Our shared commitment to continuing this legacy makes joining together a natural next step, in addition to Netflix’s decades of experience applying and scaling technology responsibly,” Affleck said of the InterPositive deal.

InterPositive is building AI- driven post-production tools meant to assist filmmakers — color, sound, cleanup — while keeping creative calls in human hands. Netflix disclosed the $587 million purchase price in its SEC filing earlier this year.
