Awkward first-date mix-up: Rhea Seehorn recalls “Is he a cheater?” moment with fiancé Graham Larson

At a routine hair appointment, Rhea Seehorn mentioned she was ready to start dating again — and walked straight into the most awkward setup imaginable. Her hairdresser introduced her to stylist Mary Alice Haney at the salon, they hit it off, and Haney offered to fix her up. What Haney didn’t say: the guy she had in mind was her ex-husband, Graham Larson.

After an email introduction, Seehorn did what everyone does — she Googled. Up popped Haney and Larson’s wedding photos, and then an email from Larson inviting her to dinner. Confused, Seehorn kept Haney looped on the chain and tried to steer this very strange courtship into a daylight group hang.

“Is he a cheater? Are they swingers? Like, what is happening?”

That’s how Seehorn remembered it on Dinner’s On Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson. She joked she agreed to a morning coffee “just to get a good story,” but friends confirmed before the meetup that Haney and Larson were, in fact, divorced. Over coffee, she also learned he had two kids with Haney — and the weirdest blind date origin story settled into something real.

Fast-forward: the couple got engaged in 2015 and have kept most of their relationship low-key. Seehorn, known to many as Kim Wexler on Better Call Saul (plus recent work on Cooper’s Bar and Pluribus ), has said she’s close with Larson’s boys and considers herself a mother figure.
