Avengers: Doomsday poster draws heat: all the stars, none of the swag
You’d think a mega team-up of Marvel’s biggest heroes sells itself — yet fans say the promotional artwork completely whiffed.
There’s a lot crammed into the newly released international artwork for Avengers: Doomsday: a full-on multiversal Incursion with two planets on a collision course, shattered cityscapes, and what looks like the wreckage of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters in the debris. Front and center, a cluster of heroes braces for impact while Doctor Doom’s shadow hangs over the chaos.
- Thor — wielding Stormbreaker, crackling with yellow lightning
- Steve Rogers — shown lifting Mjolnir again
- Sam Wilson (Captain America )
- Shuri
- Sue Storm
- Yelena Belova
- Cyclops
- Charles Xavier
- Gambit
- Loki
- Bucky Barnes
Fans pick apart the art
Once DiscussingFilm shared the image on X, the comments lit up — not over the scale, but over the vibes. A recurring gripe: for an all-timer roster, the poses feel stiff and oddly low on swagger.
"This is the most auraless photo have ever seen in my entire life," one user wrote.
Several replies singled out Cyclops as the lone standout, while others joked that Steve Rogers just looks like a guy who found a hammer. The “aura” debate became its own thread as fans compared this sheet to past Marvel one-sheets.
"Bruh Steve just looks like some guy with a hammer," another said. "Cyclops only one with aura here."

Details fueling debates
Thor’s electricity drew extra scrutiny, with the poster bathing Stormbreaker in golden bolts rather than the usual blue — a color switch that some took as a plot hint and others chalked up to design choices.
"Official? Thors got yellow lightning now?" one comment asked, echoed by, "Thor gets yellow lightning confirmed?"
Elsewhere, fans wondered why the Spider- Men are nowhere to be seen in an image loaded with heroes from different corners of the Marvel universe. Between Doom looming and an Incursion tearing reality, the absence stood out.
All of this lands as Marvel tees up a movie that’s rumored to pack in 60-plus characters and a fearsome Doctor Doom — a villain Anthony Mackie has hinted will be a major force. The one-sheet making the rounds is a Korean and international poster, and it ’s the version that’s been ricocheting across social feeds via DiscussingFilm’s post on X.
