Apple TV’s ‘Nocturne’ cast, mapped to their characters
Apple TV’s upcoming Nocturne is packing serious talent—see who’s stepping into the dark.
Veteran grit meets nerve‑shredding mind games in Nocturne, as Liev Schreiber steps in as detective Jonah Lynn opposite a chilling Jurek Walter played by Stephen Graham. The story pairs Lynn’s fight to keep his family safe with a cat‑and‑mouse pursuit where the killer always seems a move ahead, and brings in Zazie Beetz as FBI agent Saga Bauer — the one sent in to get close.
From page to screen
The series adapts two Lars Kepler bestsellers, The Sandman and Lazarus, part of the Joona Linna novels by Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, who publish together as Lars Kepler. The books have sold more than 20 million copies in 40 languages, and this is the franchise ’s first on‑screen take. Apple’s show was originally developed under the title Lazarus before landing on Nocturne.
Who plays who
- Liev Schreiber — Jonah Lynn (Spotlight, Ray Donovan)
- Zazie Beetz — FBI Agent Saga Bauer (Atlanta, Deadpool 2)
- Stephen Graham — Jurek Walter
- Bill Camp — Chief Ellison (The Night Of, Presumed Innocent)
- Rory Culkin — Kari (You Can Count on Me, Signs, Scream 4)
- Chrissy Metz — Ida (This Is Us; American Horror Story: Freak Show)

Like the novels, the show leans on the push‑pull between a seasoned investigator and Bauer, a young agent tasked with earning the killer’s trust. That dynamic — and the family-at-stake tension — sits at the center of the series’ slow-burn thrills.
Nocturne premieres October 30 on Apple TV+ .
