Anne Hathaway gives thanks after an incredible year: ‘What a gift that’s been’
Anne Hathaway paused to appreciate the love and support she’s received this year, offering a short, sweet reflection that lands right in the feels.
Talking with Entertainment Tonight while promoting her next movie Verity, Anne Hathaway said the best part of a jam-packed year has been giving herself permission to enjoy it. At 43, she said she’s learned to put happiness first and lean on the people around her.
“I’ve just been able to have a great time and really enjoy it. And that’s one of the things I love about being 43. I’m out of stage in life, where I really value and prioritize my joy. And so I’ve just been able to live in that all year long. And what a gift that’s been.”
She also credited the support system that’s carried her through premieres and long days on set, adding that the gratitude extends well beyond work.
“I’m amazed that I’m on such an amazing team in every aspect of my life and my personal life,” she said.
On set of Verity
The first trailer for Verity leans hard into psychological-thriller tension, but Hathaway laughed that parts of filming were almost comically low-key. She told Extra that some days her assignment was basically to climb into bed and do nothing — on camera.
“I felt like such a cheat when I would go to work,” Hathaway told Extra TV. “My job that day was to like let my hair dry naturally, put on a nightgown, and get into bed and like stare vacantly.”
Even so, she said the downtime wasn’t exactly a nap — she was still running lines and thinking ahead to the next scene while the camera rolled.
