Andrew Walker Says Curious Caterer Is Back on the Menu: Hallmark Scripts Are Ready
Andrew Walker is ready to whip up another Curious Caterer Mysteries, but Hallmark hasn’t ordered seconds. While promoting Kentucky Roses in April, the 46-year-old told Us Weekly there’s still no update on the next installment.
If you have been waiting on the next Curious Caterer, you are not alone. Andrew Walker is, too — and by the sound of it, the holdup is not him.
Where Curious Caterer stands right now
Walker, 46, told Us Weekly in April — while he was out promoting his new Hallmark rom-com Kentucky Roses, which premiered Saturday, May 2 — that he and Nikki DeLoach are basically standing by for the next chapter of Detective Tom Shultz and caterer-turned-amateur-sleuth Goldy Berry.
He even nudged fans to make some noise: message Hallmark, jump in the chat groups, let the network know you miss Curious Caterer.
"The scripts are written. We are ready to go."
Translation: the cast is game, the pages exist, and they just need the official greenlight. Walker also said his schedule is clear, so timing is not an issue on his end.
- Scripts: done
- Cast: Walker and DeLoach ready to roll
- Status: waiting on Hallmark to say yes
- Fan homework: tell Hallmark you want more Curious Caterer
- What the next movie would dig into: more of Tom-and-Goldy as a couple, plus deeper looks at Marla Maguire (Jaycie Dotin) and Deputy Mason (Riley Davis)
Quick refresher on the series
The franchise kicked off in 2022 with Dying for Chocolate and has grown to five movies so far. The 2024 entry, Foiled Plans, finally gave Tom and Goldy their first on-screen kiss. They are an item now, but we have not really seen their relationship breathe yet. Walker said he cannot tease much, but the plan is to actually live with them as a couple next time while also fleshing out the supporting players — where they came from, what they are into, all the little character details that make those side stories pop.
While you wait: Kentucky Roses
In the meantime, Walker’s latest rom-com Kentucky Roses is already out — it premiered Saturday, May 2 and is streaming on Hallmark+. The movie is set around the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs. Walker plays Ash Taylor, a guy who goes after what he wants and swore he would never go back to work for his dad. He moved to Cincinnati, built a life, and then gets pulled home when his father asks for a favor.
The emergency: a Churchill Downs spire gets damaged two weeks before the Derby, and Ash is the one called in to fix it. While he is in town, he meets Sadie Moore (Odette Annable), who comes from a long line of greenhouse workers with deep ties to the track. Annable says love was not exactly on Sadie’s to-do list — until Ash shows up and their romance unfolds in a way that feels fun, beautiful, and organic.
Bottom line: if you want more Curious Caterer, Hallmark needs to hear it. Until then, Kentucky Roses is waiting for you on Hallmark+.
