$3B milestone sets Zendaya up for a historic year in cinema as 'Dune 3' nears

Three weekends. That’s how fast Spider- Man: Brand New Day vaulted past $2 billion worldwide, becoming only the eighth movie ever to hit that mark and the second-fastest to do it after Avengers: Endgame . It also leapfrogged the $1.9 billion haul of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, resetting the franchise ’s record as Zendaya ’s MJ continues to be part of the web-slinger’s biggest box-office moments.

And that was just the headline. Earlier this year she popped up for a brief role in Christopher Nolan ’s The Odyssey , which has pulled in $1.291 billion worldwide and ranks as 2026 ’s second-highest-grossing film so far. On the other end of the spectrum, her moody two-hander The Drama with Robert Pattinson turned a tidy profit — more than $130 million on a reported $28 million budget.

After 2026

Beyond the holidays, her slate stretches from animation to music biopic — and maybe espionage.
