Mike Colter, known for his role as Luke Cage, hints at a possible return to the Marvel universe, revealing he has 'unfinished business' with the character as anticipation builds for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, premiering on Disney Plus in March 2026.

Mike Colter, the actor behind Luke Cage, has sparked excitement among Marvel fans by hinting at a possible return to the superhero universe. Speaking on the On That Note Podcast, Colter shared his thoughts about revisiting the role that made him a household name.

"Listen, I will say this, I've had conversations... and I'll leave it at that,"

Colter revealed.

"Because when it wrapped... y'know I loved playing Luke Cage but I love acting and doing different things. So I just was like, 'I'll do something else.' I love the fans and I love that world. And it's been years now. So now, I'm doing other projects, but now I think to myself 'I have some unfinished business there.'"

Before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both Daredevil and Jessica Jones made their Netflix debuts in 2015. Their success paved the way for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. The culmination of these series brought the heroes together as The Defenders, a supergroup that thrilled viewers. Luke Cage ran for two seasons starting in 2016, featuring a standout cast that included Rosario Dawson, Mahershala Ali, and Stephen Rider, who later starred in It: Welcome to Derry.

With the first season of Daredevil: Born Again bringing back Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones set to return in season two, speculation about a Defenders reunion has been swirling. The addition of Jessica Jones to the new season only fueled these rumors. However, Colter clarified that he hasn't received an official invitation yet.

"I talked to Cheo [Hodari Coker] about it, he was the creator and showrunner [on Netflix's Luke Cage series], and now I've reached the point where I'm like, 'I have some unfinished business' and I think Daredevil's back so, c'mon... Jessica's back."

Daredevil: Born Again season two is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in March 2026. As fans eagerly await more news, the Marvel universe continues to expand with new movies and shows on the horizon.
