The 2026 Golden Raspberry Awards have announced their nominees, and War of the Worlds leads the pack with six nominations, including Worst Picture, after a dismal critical response.

The nominations for the 2026 Golden Raspberry Awards are out, and things aren’t looking good for War of the Worlds. The sci-fi action film, featuring Ice Cube as a cybersecurity expert who stumbles onto government conspiracies during an alien attack, has landed six nominations, including the infamous Worst Picture category. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of just 4%, its presence at the Razzies comes as little surprise.

Disney ’s live-action Snow White remake also found itself in the Razzie spotlight, matching War of the Worlds with six nominations. Among its nods are Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Screenplay, highlighting the film’s struggle to win over critics and audiences alike.

Directors and Stars Face the Heat

This year’s Razzie nominations didn’t spare directors, either. Rich Lee (War of the Worlds) and Marc Webb (Snow White) are both up for Worst Director, joined by Olatunde Osunsanmi (Star Trek: Section 31), Trey Edward Shults (Hurry Up Tomorrow), and the Russo Brothers ( The Electric State). The acting categories are just as competitive, with Ice Cube (War of the Worlds), Abel 'The Weeknd' Tesfaye (Hurry Up Tomorrow), Dave Bautista (In the Lost Lands), Jared Leto ( Tron: Ares ), and Scott Eastwood (Alarum) all in the running for Worst Actor.

On the actress side, nominees include Ariana DeBose (Love Hurts), Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Section 31), Milla Jovovich (In the Lost Lands), Natalie Portman (Fountain of Youth), and Rebel Wilson (Bride Hard). Supporting roles didn’t escape notice, with all seven artificial dwarfs from Snow White, Greg Kinnear (Off the Grid), Nicolas Cage (Gunslingers), Stephen Dorff (Bride Hard), and Sylvester Stallone (Alarum) up for Worst Supporting Actor.

Screen Combos and Sequels Under Fire

The Razzies also called out some of the year’s most questionable on-screen pairings. Nominations for Worst Screen Combo include Ice Cube and his Zoom camera (War of the Worlds), all seven artificial dwarfs (Snow White), James Corden and Rihanna (Smurfs), Robert DeNiro and Robert DeNiro (The Alto Knights), and The Weeknd and his Colossal Ego (Hurry Up Tomorrow).

Sequels and remakes were not immune, with Five Nights at Freddy's 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Smurfs, Snow White, and War of the Worlds all up for Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel. The Worst Screenplay category features many of the same titles, underscoring a tough year for big-budget reboots and follow-ups.

Controversy and Past Razzie Moments

Since their debut in 1981, the Golden Raspberry Awards have faced criticism for being

"mean-spirited," "petty," and "unfunny"

. Despite calls for cancellation, the event continues to draw attention. The organization has previously apologized for nominating a 12-year-old actor and rescinded an award after Bruce Willis’s aphasia diagnosis was made public.

Some stars have managed to win both an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year. In 1993, Alan Menken took home an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Razzie for Worst Original Song. Sandra Bullock famously accepted her Worst Actress Razzie for All About Steve in 2010, only to win Best Actress at the Oscars for The Blind Side the next day.

The 46th Golden Raspberry Awards ceremony is set for March 14. As the film industry looks ahead, movie fans are already buzzing about the most anticipated releases of 2026, from Avengers: Doomsday to The Mandalorian and Grogu.
